About TAG Studio
The TAG Studio Story
Based on the famous spas of Europe, in 1911 the C&O Railroad began construction of “a European cure in America” to be known as the Greenbrier Mineral Bath Department.
Seventy-five years later, the Greenbrier Hotel retained Architect/Master Designer TAG Galyean to study the bath department's operational history and water-based cures and to invent “the first post-World War II luxury resort spa in America”. The project, completed in 1988, was enthusiastically received by guests and immediately became a new profit center for The Hotel.
The design-based strategies developed led to the founding of TAG Studio and projects with Rock Resorts, Glenn Eagles, CSX Resorts, and Guinness PLC. – “appropriate beautiful amenities - enhanced guest experience, securing higher occupancies and increased revenue.”
Marilyn Feldmeier and Taylor Galyean joined TAG Studio, and a blue-ribbon client group developed through the following decade. See Client Remarks.
TAG Studio is now known for its thoughtful conceptual vision and execution at over 25 independent Resorts and Spas, including the 24-year role as Master Designer during the Broadmoor Hotel’s rise to become the foremost five-star five-diamond resort in the US, the Casa Palmero Spa and Villas at Pebble Beach, and most recently a 5-year enhancement of Rancho de Los Caballeros in Wickenburg, AZ.
